We are a fourth-generation coffee growers, each with over four decades of hands-on experience in the cultivation of Coffee, Pepper, Cardamom, and Arecanut. Empower and uplift the planting community, we bring together deep-rooted knowledge and generational wisdom.
Our vision is deeply personal. As growers and parents, we have witnessed a steady migration of our youth to cities, distancing themselves from the soil and the legacy of farming.
We believe that with access to modern technology, scientific know-how, and the right guidance, the younger generation can not only return—but thrive—as stewards of a new era in Indian agriculture.
Our journey extends beyond our estates. Members of our team have played pivotal roles in shaping the future of plantation farming through active policy advocacy. We have held leadership positions in key Plantation organisation - Karnataka Growers Federation and Hassan District Planters’ Association, where some of us have served as Presidents. Several of our members also serve, or have served as members of the prestigious Coffee Board of India, contributing to national strategies for coffee development.
As coffee cultivation rapidly shifts from traditional to modern practices, from Bean 2 Brain, From Soil 2 Solution and we believe the future of coffee lies in COLLABORATION, EDUCATION and INNOVATION. Many growers struggle to keep pace - particularly the younger generation. Recognizing this gap, the 7 Bean Team has become a pioneering force in grower-led education and capacity building. We are proud to be one of the first initiative in India led by growers themselves to conduct monthly training programs from Jan-Dec, reaching over 175 enthusiastic participants every year covering entire journey from soil to cup, combining science, sustainability, and field-tested knowledge.
Our name - 7 Bean - pays tribute to the legendary Sufi saint Baba Budan, who, in the 17th century, brought seven coffee beans from Yemen (during restricted time) and planted them in the Chandradrona hills of Chikkamagaluru. This sparked the beginning of coffee cultivation in India. Today, Karnataka’s coffee belt—from Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu in the Western Ghats and to the Eastern India - stands as a lush green corridor protecting one of the world’s eight critical biodiversity hotspots and acting as LUNGS of South-India.
